Editor: With the upcoming 2004 general election, military veterans need to assess and review how their members of Congress stand on veterans' issues before they decide on a course of action they will take in the voting booth. It is sad that military veterans still have great difficulty in securing prompt and meaningful health care through Veterans Administration health-care facilities due to lack of appropriations and funding.

The U men's and women's track teams opened the 2004 outdoor season with a strong showing last weekend at the Sacramento State Hornet Invitational in Sacramento, Calif. The Utes brought home a remarkable seven gold medals from a meet featuring four other schools.

As an import from Maine, I make a lot of sacrifices living in Utah, especially regarding sports. Coming from New England, where Boston sports are the primary religion, to Utah where the primary religion is actually a religion, I feel like I'm being deprived of my spiritual rites/rights.

Attempted counterfeit car purchase A U employee went to an online site to sell her van. After being contacted by an interested agent in England, she agreed to sell the van for $8,000 to a man the agent knew in Canada. The agent told the woman he would send her a $14,000 check to cover the cost of the van and the shipping fee.
