Making a stinky statement
A female jogger defecated in the parking lot of Huntsman Chemical Corporation after she was told she could not jog there for safety reasons on the morning of Jan. 17. Sgt. Garth Smith of U Police said an employee witnessed the incident and reported it to police. The case remains active.
An intoxicated homeless male was found sleeping on the third floor of the Union on Wednesday. The man was transported to the University Hospital for treatment.
Freaky phone call
A U Hospital employee received a threatening phone call on Jan. 17. Smith said the employee received a call on his personal cellphone announcing he had won the lottery and needed to send in a money card to claim it. The complainant thought it was a scam and hung up the phone. The caller called back and threatened to kill the employee’s family if he did not send the card, Smith said. The case remains active.
On Jan. 17, a hiker reported finding blood on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Smith said the hiker reported “a blood trail up the mountainside.” The blood appeared to be from an animal and the source was not determined, Smith said.
