U art professor, students to paint a mural downtown
Thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, professor Kim Martinez and some of her students will design and paint a mural in downtown Salt Lake City this summer.

Sorenson leaves fortune to charity
When James LeVoy Sorenson died from cancer at the age of 86 last month, his family said that the late inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist's assets would be donated to charity.

Senate passes bill to conceal animal researchers
The Senate passed a bill Tuesday that would conceal the names, personal addresses and phone numbers of animal researchers at state colleges and universities.
SB 113, sponsored by Sen. Greg Bell, R-Fruit Heights, would modify the Government Records Access and Management Act to classify personal information of researchers who conduct medical or scientific research on animals at institutions of higher education as protected documents.…
