Another member of the student government's executive cabinet submitted her resignation last week.
Graphic Design Director Rachel Leiker said she is resigning for personal and academic reasons. The decision marks the second resignation from the cabinet in as many weeks.
"ASUU and ultimately the students deserve someone who can devote more time and energy to projects than I currently can," Leiker said.
The position required her to work 20 hours a week. Leiker will not leave ASUU completely, but is planning to stay on the board under the new graphic design director as a board member.
"A board member is only required five hours a week at most, and those hours don't have to be spent in the ASUU office," Leiker said.
Last year she also worked as the graphic director and was responsible for creating such things as the free film series posters and "The Vagina Monologues'" promotional material.
Now ASUU is trying to find a replacement because Leiker's assistant director is not interested in the position, ASUU Chief of Staff Nicola Saliendra said.
"We feel that this is a great experience for anyone planning for a career in graphic design or similar fields," she said.
Students with past experience, knowledge of design software and a high level of creativity are among the more important qualities they are looking for in the new director, Saliendra said.
Applicants must fill out an application that they can pick up in the ASUU office. Soon after an interview will take place with Saliendra.
Applications are due by 5 p.m., Aug. 12.
