Kingsbury Hall employee allegedly assaulted
An employee at Kingsbury Hall told police she was assaulted during a Feb. 22 performance. The victim, a woman working as an usher for the performance, said she attempted to assist a man who was standing against the wall. She said the man, who said he was the director, grabbed her wrist and asked her to be quiet multiple times, according to a police report. The woman told police she suffered from arthritis and her wrist "hurt extremely bad and continued to hurt throughout the night." The woman did not receive medical care on her wrist, according to a police report.
Man cited for unpaid taxi fare
Officers from the U Police Department were dispatched after a taxicab driver for Ute Cab told them one of his clients had not paid a taxi fare. The driver told police he drove a man to Primary Children's Medical Center on Feb. 25. Upon arrival, the suspect said he did not have the $30 taxi fare but he would obtain the money from his ex-wife, who works at the center, according to a police report. The driver followed the suspect into the hospital, but they were unable to locate his wife. The suspect gave the driver $10 and said he would get the rest of the money in the morning. The suspect said he understood what he did was wrong, according to a police report. He was cited for theft of services.
Patient loses dentures
A patient at the U hospital reported that someone had stolen his dentures. He reported the incident Feb. 19 although he told police his dentures had been missing since Feb. 9. He told police he had placed them in his bag in his room's closet. He was later moved to another room. Although his bag was moved as well, his dentures were gone, according to a police report.
$7,000 worth of construction equipment stolen
An employee of SkyView Glass told police that more than $7,000 worth of tools and supplies had been stolen from the construction site at the Carolyn Tanner Irish Humanities Building. He said the tools had been taken out of three different lock boxes left on the second floor of the building. The employee told police all boxes had been locked and that there was no forced entry into them. The last time he saw the tools was Feb. 15. Around the same time, an electric foreman at the site told police that more than $400 worth of electrical equipment was stolen. The foreman said he suspects that the framing crew that recently started working on the site took the tools, according to a police report.
Bike stolen from OSH
A U student reported that someone stole his bicycle Feb. 19. He told police he had secured it to the bike rack near the northeast door of OSH around 3 p.m.
Employee allegedly assaults woman
A woman told police she was assaulted by a man who is an employee of the University Neuropsychiatric Institute on Feb. 19. She said she was standing in the doorway of the employee's room asking him to giver her the toilet paper holder he had torn off the wall, according to a police report. The man then threw the toilet paper holder into the bathroom and told her to go get it. When she asked him for it again, he allegedly began to beat her in the face, head and neck with a closed fist. She also told police he kicked her in the back, leg and buttock area. He stopped when other staff members arrived.
